If you are doing something that you do not like, and are not forced to do it. Explain to me why you keep doing it?

Im sorry but I know people want/need cellphones. Be it for personal safety, they dont want a landline, or to make it easier to communicate. I dont think a person should buy cell phones for a 6 and a 7 year old. Isnt that going a little overboard?
That just really blows my mind.
